Hot Rolled Equal Angles Halesowen
At Harris Steels, we supply hot rolled equal angles in Halesowen for a wide range of industrial applications. Also known as angle iron or RSA (Rolled Steel Angle), these low-carbon, economical angles are versatile and widely used.
Angles are formed with a fillet or root radius to a 90° angle, reducing stress concentration at the corners. Smaller square root angles are available for less critical applications. Twisting operations are avoided to maintain structural integrity.
Uses and Applications
Hot rolled equal angles are ideal for load-bearing applications, either in finished form or bolted/welded back-to-back to create tee sections. Surface scale can be removed by pickling and oiling (P&O), though shot blasting is common in Halesowen when a clean surface or painting is required.
Manufacture and Standards
Angles are produced to S275 and S355 standards. S355 material requires a minimum tensile yield of 355 N/mm², decreasing with thickness. Production tolerances for larger sections range from 0.4 mm upwards.
